Rebekah Johnson is a 2008 recipient of a Tuskegee Airmen Scholarship Foundation’s $1,500 scholarship award.

Ms. Johnson graduated in June 2008 from East High School in Denver, Colorado with a grade point (weighted) average of 4.18.

Rebekah’s extra curricular activities included serving as the Tri-President of the East High School Black Student Alliance.  She was an officer in the National Honor Society and a member for four years.  Rebekah was selected as an Academic All-Star by the local Channel 7.  She was a member of the Varsity Cheerleading Squad and one of two captains in her senior year. 

Ms. Johnson’s commitment to community service was shown through her work with a canned food drive for Thanksgiving food boxes for families in the community.  She was honored by the Denver Chapter of Links, Inc. during their “Tribute to Black Youth” program in 2008.

In her letter of recommendation, Rebekah’s teacher, Lisa Smith, stated, “Rebekah has demonstrated a strong voice in her convictions in class, and because of this I believe that Rebekah can handle the demands of a challenging environment that any higher-level institution will place upon her, and become a great asset to their campus”.
