The Tuskegee Airmen Scholarship Foundation presented its third annual scholarship award named in honor of SMSgt Levarn Adger (Ret) on Friday 27 April at the C A Johnson HS AFJROTC 41st Annual Awards Dining Out. SMSgt Adger is the Aerospace Science Instructor (ASI) at CAJ HS. SMSgt Adger has served the unit for 17 years. The award was presented to Cadet/Captain Cierra Ebony Nicole Milhouse. Cadet Milhouse is a senior who is the top academic performer in the unit and is the highest ranking cadet in the cadet corps. Cierra plans to attend South Carolina State University in Orangeburg, SC. This year the SMSgt Adger Scholarship increased 300% in value for the very first time, and from now on it will include a distinctive plaque and $1,500 scholarship award. This scholarship is unique to the CAJ AFJROTC unit because of the extensive service done by CAJ cadets to administer the TAI AFJROTC award program for all 889 AFJROTC units with over 118,000 cadets enrolled around the world. The scholarship winner must have reported on the award program at a TAI National Convention. Cadet Milhouse reported to the Tuskegee Airmen Inc National Conventions in San Antonio, TX in 2010 and Washington, DC in 2011. Mr. Marvin Williams, in the red jacket, represented the local Spann Watson chapter of Tuskegee Airmen Inc (TAI) and the National HQs of TAI.
